So ? We won’t get wet ??

Last week most of the kids at Holland had a week off ! My nephew wanted to stay over with us for some nights ! Well, he is always welcome, so … 3 nights it was.

My sister ( aka DutchBitch among the bloggers ) and me had plenty of time before that to make the boy crazy and talk about 1 or 2 nights. We constantly got corrected by him saying it was THREEEEE nights.

We had a surprise for him one of those days, because our motto is ” Parents are there to bring up the child, aunts and uncles are there to spoil them rotten !” . Well, we had 4 tickets to an amusement parc, so that would be fun.

The second day of his stay we took him there. Inherating the need for speed of his aunt, uncle and mother … he wanted to be in everything that had speed for kids OR adults …
Lucky for him his uncle felt like an 8 years old too, so even in stuff not allowed for adults, his uncle got in the cars / boats … you name it.

Than we head for the speed things for adults. Yep, uncle is now legaly allowed to get into boats, things, whatever.
Annyhoooo, we get near the SPLASH and my nephew starts to get all excited “YEAH, WANNA DO THATTTT !!!”.

I tell my nephew it is quite cold and we might get wet ! I kick myself in the butt, knowing that won’t make him THINK, but WANT.

Okay okay, we’ll go in the splash !!!

Pfew, I am happy to see there are 2 boats. One covered and one open. We go stand in line and the conversation with my nephew starts :

Aunt : So, we are now in the line of the covered boat ?
Nephew : No
A : No ? But we will get wet than !
N : Nahh, not really !
A : Oh yes we are ( looking at grandma and uncle who obviously think the same )
N : Do you see wet people here ?
A : No, but that is because they haven’t been in the splash yet
N : Nooo, some are here for the second time
A : They told you that ?
N : No, but I know

- he knows, really , don’t mess with the boy -

A : Well, I don’t wanna get wet
N : You won’t , see – pointing at a passing EMPTY boat … -
A : There are no people in it …
N : But … it has raincovers, you can put it over yourself and you won’t get wet. Just your head sticks out.
A : So, … my head gets wet
N : Annoyed – NOOOOOO, you won’t get wet … Believe me
A : Okay …

- We finally make it to the boat and there we go – We get pulled up and … just a little corner …

A : Soo, we won’t get wet , you are sure ?
N : I don’t know !!!
A : – yelling – You DON’T KNOW ????? WHA ……..

- We see the end … we make a DIVE … and SPLASH … ( this is an ACTUAL picture of THAT particular SPLASH made of the boat BEHIND us, the boat is somewhere near the arrow, you CAN’T SEE BECAUSE IT IS COVERED IN WATER !!!! ).

Next to me there is my nephew , with a completely SOAKING wet head and laughing his lungs out as hard as he can. On the other side I see my husband and mom, soaking wet too … having a blank stare … not speaking …

N : WAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAHAH
A : Hey !!!!!!
N : Wahhaat Hahahahahahaha ? WHAAATT AHHAHAHAHA !!!
A : You SAID we would not get WET !!!!
N : I said I did not know !
A : YOU SAID THE WHOLE TIME WE WOULD NOT GET WET !!
N : laughing, pleased with himself : Yeaahhh hahahah, gotcha there , right ? HAHAHAHA

- blank stare … joining husband and granny , sitting next to a laughing 8 years old boy … with a soaking wet head -
