I am not nice .. , so .. what else is new ?

This week I needed to get some photos printed. My husband suggested to do it ourselves and use photopaper at the printer.

He told me to get laserprinterpaper . LASERPRINTER !!! He knows, I don’t . Somewhere between him telling me that and me getting the paper … it changed into INKJET paper. Not good, red alert …

BUT … me being me … I bought the paper thinking I got the right one. BLOND, I know ( I am not gonna tell you that this is the second time it happened … ). Anyyywaayyyy … I realized I got the wrong paper ( dûh ) and decided to return it the next day.

To make sure I would get my MONEY back I looked at the ticket. Often shops here let you trade the article. Or you get a coupon  to use at their shop instead of giving you your money back …  At the ticket  they have to write their rules. Nothing was written there, so the real Dutch law counts ( counts anyway ) … return within 8 days … money back.

I went to the shop and got in line. When it was my turn I held up the paperpack and the ticket.

Me : I bought the wrong paper, sorry.

Cashier : You can trade it for the right one.

M : But you do not sell the right one, so I would like my money back, thank you.

C : We do not give money back.

M : But it is MY money and you do give money back … The Dutch Law says so … within 8 days and money back. I bought it yesterday and it is still in the plastic. So …

C : We can give you a coupon …

M : No, I want my money back …

C : We don’t ..

…. Before she could repeat herself … I butt in …
M : Can you show me at the ticket where it says you do not return money ?

C : …. ( no she can’t ! ) … I will call my colleague ..

( Fine by me ) -> And … the same discussion starts with her colleague

Cashiere 2 : We do not give money back, because it is a lot of work to change the ticket .

M : But … I am in my right and I want my money back. You can’t prove to me that it says anywhere you don’t give money back. Even than … I am intitled to change my mind … AND GET MY MONEY BACK.

C2 : ( sighing – knowing I am annoying and not gonna leave ) … opens de register and starts changing the ticket.

Let me try to explain to you * readers * HOW much work that was :

I gave the ticket  .. click click .. new ticket comes out

DONE

M : Was that all ?

C2 : Yeah, why ?

M : So .. thát was all the work you had to do and … the reason why this shop doesn’t return money ?

C2 : Yeah

M : Hmmm … indeed a LOOOTTT of work ( taking my money and leaving the shop )

I know, I am not nice … so … what else is new ?
